I asked Rick St.Dennis MFA if he could draw me a sexy looking vampire, and ofcourse he could. I think he can draw anything.

This image is called  la Morte Rouge anArt Journalling  I made an art journalling page

I used a gelli plate, acrylic paint and distress in, the spiderweb, tombstone and skellie are made by making masks using my cricut.
the bats, the cross , and the border are rubber and clear stamps,  The senti came from the net.

Augusts RSD Freebies, meet Bitsy and Tworki

Freebie time again at Sparkle and Glitter and Airless  Chambers the other Rick St. Dennis blogs

There was a bit of a catch for the edt members this time, the Boss decided that the horns and the bathing suit of the freebies had to be coloured using a colour that started with the first letter of their name.

Lesson  learned here: Never try to out smart the Boss or you'll be in big trouble........

Cause I said this was easy ,my name starts with M so I can use M&M red,  M&M blue etc...and said that  Rick should come up with something more wicked to beat us ,

so I ended up not being allowed to use any colour that starts with any letter of my name: Monique van Dijk or any colour with a double name.

Just to show you I didn't cheat here a colour chart of my Caran d'ache pencils
I own the big box 76 pencils, unlucky for me fancy pencils have fancey names, most of them have double names.
So following DA RULEZ I ended up with these

9 pencils including black and white, I hardly ever use black and white so that left 7 pencils, see pic above..........

This was challenging, 3 sepia colour and a very light yellow and some orange/red/rust

For Bitsy I needed skin colour and a colour for the eyes

there was no rule about mixing colours and it turns out that worked great, the primrose and the cornelian togehter looked kind a skin colour and the russet for the eyes

see here the result

not that bad hey??
I decided to try the sepia colours too

Same rules were to be used for Tworki, the cutest monster ever

I  think I passed the test LOL
now go and snag the freebies on SNG and AC

i will enter bitsy in the folowing challenges

Halloween wishes

I have made another art journal page, I am really having fun playing with my Gelli Plate,  This time I also used my Cricut to cut out stencils. See the spiderwebb that's  from the 31 rst october cartridge, just cut it out and
use as stencil. I did the same to make the swirly background, that's on  the storybook cartridge.

here is Winsome Witch she is a Rick St. Dennis digi

this is what I used

thrones

This A.J. page is for the Alpha Dictionary challenge at Craft Barn blog this time it's the letter T.

Because Rick St. Dennis MFA had just send me an awesome image that was based on the Game of Thrones, you can find her here, I decided my word would be "Thrones" that way I could use this awesome new image to join this challenge.

I cut out the defenition of the word out of an old dictionary and put it on my page.

The word Thrones is also on there and there are several T's in the senti, so I guess this will do to enter, working in a real dictionary is to small for me sorry....

here she is:

Background acrylic paint and gelli plate. I used my cricut to make stencils to for the gelli plate, worked great :-) .  The RSD digi is coloured using caran d'ache luminance 6901 colouring pencils

Chunky ATC

This is my first ever chunky ATC, not made out of wood but just cardstock, template was provided bij Haunted design House challenge 172 in which this is going to be entered.

The background card symbols is a rubber stamp, don't know which brand, the Alice stamps are all Rick St Dennis, most of them available in rubber now at I Brake for Stamps.

The card stock is coloured using distress in different shades of blue. All stamps are coloured using my caran d'ache colouring pencils. The key hole is a clear stamp (marianne design i think) covered with embossing  powder.

the chunky atc's front can be opened to a little shadowbox.

I will also enter this in Smudgy Antics challenge "use metal"   the metal is in the hinges, the corners, the key and clock and the little doorknob, which is made out of button.

a free elf

As you may already know Rick St. Dennis sends out a free news letter every month, and besides news there are also some extra's such as freebie digi images or discounts, so well worth subscribing to it, here

here my project,

It's a piece of cardboard, painted using acrilyc paint and bubble wrap, also made a mask out of a tim holtz swirl die.
added glimmer mist and glitter to make it look like the fairy dust the senti is talking about

the elf has the feather of an angel in his hand, and I coloured the cute guy with colouring pencils

this pic is tryng to show you the glitter,  Always hard in a pic, and a closer look of the sentiment

And there's aso some great news  RSD Alice and Randi Dandi images now available in RUBBER at I Brake for Stamps,

I will enter the elf card in the following challenges

Newly Deads

Another AJ page, still using prints of the pile of gelliprints i made first time, I used too much paint on this one so there is al lot of texture on this print. The texture makes it hard to write on the paint.  I never use pencil first, and I know I should, but I am a bit of a lazy crafter so I take the chance and just handwrite without any guidelines. Most of the times it comes out ok.  This time it didn't. The quote was to long really to fit in the space left, and I had to squeeze it in, but I thought it would work so well with the image I just had to use it.
I do like the rest of the page though

The digital image used is called Zombie Newly Deads by Rick St. Dennis, I love this image, it's sooo funny.
The quote (hope you can read it) is by Bob Dylan
the window in the bg is a stamp ( i thought of using this stamp after i glued the digi on the bg so I had to make a mask for the digi to get the stamp in the bachground LOL) , the bricks are a stencil

I will enter this in the following challenges
