Travel journal cover

Some of you allready know we will be going on vacation to USA soon, so it was time to make the covers for my new travel journal.

Deco Art Products used:

Deco Art Americana acrylics in: Antique White and Traditional Burnt Umber.

Deco Art Americana Decoupage,  Deco Art Dazzling Metallic in Venetian Gold.

Deco Art Aniquing Cream in English red Oxide and Raw Umber.

Deco Art Media Crackle glaze, and Ultra matte varnish

Travellers Notebook

I bought a Trvellers Notebook (knock off) because i think it will work great for me to have the option of having several books in one cover. with our upcoming travel to USA I started decorating the covers of insert that will be my travel journal. There is a video of the process, see below

I had bought a new sketch book to use as travel journal for our vacation in USA , the book had blank canvas covers so I used Deco Art prosucts to decorate them

Products used:
 Deco Art Traditionsartist acrylics in : Phthalo Blue, Carbon Black, Opaque White, Naphtol Red.
Deco Art Traditons Satin Vasnish, Deco Art Media Crackle Glaze, Gesso, Antiquiging cream in Raw Umber. Deco Art Glas paint marker in Red, Deco Art stencils Andy Skinner, have yuor say and Industrial Elements. Deco Art American Tribute amd Urban Ink : pride

first Gesso the covers, next use the stencils and the paints to decorate, late dry, add a layer varnish and use the crackle Glaze, when crackling is done use antiquing cream to brin our the crackle and wipe back till you like result. Next protect covers using 2 layers of varnish

Travel Journal

Hi All


Some of you allready know, we will be traveling to the USA 12 th of july and have the biggest vacation ever :-)

I am looking forward to this adventure very much. This is probably the last vacation togehter with the kids and it will be the longest time away from home for us ever.  Because I usually take some crafty things with me on vacations I thought to document our trip in a Travel Journal. This will be my fist travel journal so no idea how this will turn out, or if I can keep up with writing in it.

Well I am prepared now, the journal is ready to go (well at least the cover is, the inside is still blank)

I used DecoArt Americana Acrylics to paint the cover of the book (it's a dummy book) the colours I used are Red Alert, Snow White, Lamp Black, True Blue. The red letter are written using a Deco Art Glass Paint marker (yes they are supposed to be used on glass, but I found they can write over acrylic paint too, not a lot markers can do that) I protected the cover with two layers of Dura Clear Matte Varnish.

I made the stripes using masking tape, the stars are a foam stamp, and the statue of liberty is a stencil (had that for ages, it's no longer available, think it's from Avec)
