Deco Art Products used: Americana Decou page matte, Americana acrylics in : Lamp black, Snow White, Media Misters in : Turquoise, primary Yellow, Purple, Orange and Yellow Green



I made an art journal page using  a Rick St,dennis digi called Midnight watch , the background is made using media misters and next I made stamps using foam and the Tim Holtz dies to make the leaves and graveyard, they are stamped using lamp black Americana acrylic paint

 The zombie guy was coloured and cut out and glued to the page using Decou Page matte

I have been having fun painting in my art journal, here is the result :-)

DECO ART Products used:

Gesso, Media Misters in Yellow Green, and Primary Yellow. Shimmer mister in Turquoise.

Media fluid acrylics in Pymole Red, Cobalt Tea Hue, Cobalt Blue hue. Traditions  artist acrylic paints in Carbon Black and Opaque White 

First imade the background (see process in link to video here, only use different colours misters but the idea is the same)

Next I sketched the dreamcatcher using a 6 b graphite pencil, and painted the colours in. For the feathers I started with grey and added a bit black and lighter grey and white to get the idea of fluffy feathers :-) (all mixed by the white and black traditions paint)

when paint was all dry I erased the remainin pencil lines and wrote the sentiment

Crazy Birds

I had some fun with the birds stampset by Katzelkraft and Deco Art Media Misters in my art journal.

DECO ART products used: Media misters in Primary Magenta and Primary Yellow, Shimmer Mister in Turquoise. Gesso, Glass paint marker in white.

Other produscts used: bird stamps by Katzelkraft, dvd marker in black, swirl stamps, Archival jet black ink pad, Derwent coloursoft pencils and a waterbrush, Uniball signo gel pen in white, scissors and glue. Mister filled with water, Kitchentowel, ruler.

The journal is the small Dylusions journal from Ranger

First gesso both pages and let dry, next spray a little water on the right page and use the misters, add a bit of spary water if needed, colours will start running. Close the book (yep go ahead it's not that scary)  open it again and you will see both pages are now covered in mister ink.  Let it dry a bit and use kitschen towel to dab off excess paint and let the pages dry.


Meanwile take a piece of white cardstock and stamp the birds, use pencils to colour them and cut them all out.

When page is dry take a ruler and draw the line using the black dvd marker (I found out they write on acrylic paints very well but a Sharpie will work too I guess).  Stamp the birds on the line (because some parts of the stamp are very detailed you won;t be able to cut them out of the coloured ones, when that happens you will have the stamped image on the page for the missing parts)

Glue the birds on and write the sentiment with the black marker and the white gel pen.

Stamp the swirls in black and use the white glass paint maker for some accents.

I made an Art Journal page using Happy Clown Andy a Rick St.dennis digital image.
Deco Art products used : Acrylic Gesso, Media misters in Primary Magenta. Shimmer misters in Yellow and Turquoise. Traditions Acrylic paint in opaque white and a glass paint marker in black

frst I gessoed the page and when gesso was dry I usde a water mister to wet the page, next I used the media misters to get the ink to mix and run a bit.  You can't see the shimmer in the pics but it is deffo there.

Next used paint to get the circles on (used a mask) and wrote the quote by Charlie Chaplin

A finnabair inspired canvas for the RSD progressive challenge

Time for a new challenge at the Rick St.dennis Sparkle and Glitter blog, it's anything goes as long as you use a Rick St.dennis image


I made a Finnabair inspired canvas using Alice with Teacup, a rubber stamp from I Brake for Stamps, designed by Rick.

Deco Art products used:
Acrylic Gesso, Modeling Paste.
Stencils: Flower Market and  Distressed Harlequin
Media Misters, Orange, Primary Yellow, and Shimmer misters in Yellow, turquoise and Violet.
Metallic Lustres in Orange Flicker, Cosmic Blue, Elegant Emerald, Majestic Purple, Radiant Red,Brilliant Turquoise.

This was eal fun to mae and much easie than you should think, it is just collecting all kinds of fowers and other things you want to use. I wanted an Alice in Wonderland theme so I went for a toy porcelein tea pot and cups, an old necklace, small playing cards, a bottle, a key and some Tim Holz dies and a wooden frame.

Glue everything on the canvas and use gesso to paint it all white and give it a base to use the misters on. I used stencils and modeling paste to add some texture and when all was dry I started misting.
Added a bit metallic Lustre and voila, a Finnabair inspired canvas.

The Alice stamp inside the frame is coloured using Derwent Inktense pencils, the back ground is distress ink.

cool heat gun

My heat gun was covered in paint spatter, inks, mists and not nice and clean looking

I was working with the Deco Art Media misters and some or it got on my heat gun a few weeks ago. Seemed it was gonna be on there foreve eventhough plastic is not the first you think of using the misters.


So I thought to just give it a try,

Looks pretty cool huh?

if you want to try this, unplug the heatgun, mist a basecoat of the  Americana sealer/ finisher let dry and take out the Americana Media Misters out and spray away.

Let dry overnight, make sure it is really dry before you switch the heatgun on again. To prodtect the paint spray another layer of Sealer . Finisher (let dry before starting the heatgun again)

I've used mine a lot since painted and it the paint is still in good condition, no problems with the heat.  If you do this you will probably have a warranty problem so think about that first before you get your misters out.  People have been asking me if Dylussions also work, I haven't tried, but since they are more translucent and have are totally different from the Deco Art Media misters I don't think it will work.

Zombie card

 I made a Halloween card

The image used is Zombie Tangle, you can find him in Zibbet here and on Etsy here

the card was made of black and orange cardstock, the orange card got stamped using a spiderweb stamp. then sprayed some Deco Art Media Misters in Red and Green Yellow on the card. Cut the image out and matted it on black cardstock. The spider and the gravestones are dies, I used black cardstock and embossed it first. as a finishing touch there is some Deco Art Metallic lustre on the edges of the card and on the gravestones and spider.

Maleficent

Americana Multi surface : neon orange, satin egplant, 

Deco Art Media Mister Primary Yellow, Deco Art glass paintmarker in black. Deco Art Stencil gears and cogs.

Maleficent is a digital image by Rick St.dennis,  The Rubber stamp in the background is from Smeared Ink, desigened by Rick St.dennis

I stated with a gelli print (I used American acrlics to make the print) and then used the stencil and the acrylic paints to make the gears and give the page a steampunk feel . The skulls are a rubber stamp. The digital image is coloured using Caran dáche Luminace pencils. Cut the image out and after writing the quot I glued the image on the page.

The text is a quote from the movie Maleficent and it is hanwritten using a Deco Art glasspaint maker, that works great to write on acrylic paint
