For the new challenge at the Rick St. dennis dark blog, Airless Chambers, I made an art journal page using Closet Monster by Rick St. Dennis.

I made this in a journal with black pages in it and used Deco Art Americana Multi-surface paint in Neon Pink and Neon Orange.
De background is made by using a stencil, the digi is colored using pencils, cut out and glued to the background. The sentiment is written using a whit Gell pen.

 Here some more pictures.

Hope to see you in the challenge at Airless Chambers, have fun

cats

I got my hands on the stamp sets designed by Rick St.dennis available at Sin City stamps, and I thought to have a play with the Cats set see the set below

Since we have 3 cats, they demanded I got the set, and you better listen to what you cats tells you to do, or you get the death stare or worse.....

I made a little fun tag, hope you like it

Products used:  Sin City stamp set Cats
Deco Art Americana acrylics in Lilac and Lavender and Gesso and Matte Medium
Deco Art stencil designed by Andy Skinner Halftone
And Stampendous stamp by Andy Skinner; Toxic

Fist I gessoed the tag and painted it Lavender, next used the stencil to make the dots.
Stamped the stamp on paper using Archival ink andcoloured it  using pencils, next cut it out.
(stamp it on the tag to get the whiskers on there so you don;t have to cut those out)

Use the Toxic stamp with archival blue ink on the tag (the scratches looked like there had been a cat fight in my mind)

adhere the image to the tag using matte medium.

next stamp the sentiment using alphabet stamps, and to finish add a ribbon to the tag and a little bow to the duck's neck.

I will enter the following challenges

Other materials..
Deco Art Products:

I started making the background on watercolor paper using the Deco Art Media fluid Acrylics thinned with water to get a watercolor effect

The Background was bigger than the frame but that's ok, you can cut it to size

When the sky was ready painted the mountains and used a tooth brush to splatter with white paint to create the stars

The castle was colored and cut out, it's in many layers to create a 3 d effect

I cut the background to fit the frame

the frame was covered with tecture stucco on the bottom part, when dry the tecture stucco was painted black
the upper part of the frame was painted to look the same as the sky

the background was glued to the frame and the castle was added inside the frame

there is a litle light in the turret, it shows better in the video above
I dry brushed the stucco texture with greys to make it look like stone, and added some moss
here some pics with the light
and a better look at all layers

The Reaper.....(again)

Digi used : the Reaper by Rick St.dennis
Deco Art Products used: Deco Art Media Shimmer Misters inTurquoise and Violet, Deco Art Americana acrylic paint in Snow White and Lamp Black.
Americana Decou Page Napkin

For Rick St.dennis Craft Team we got an assignement , saying make a project that exemplifies you as a crafter,,,,'''

I did not have to think about that very long (I did google exemplifies first lol) ,,, I just had to use my old frined the Reaper, I just love that image soooo much. It has everything I like in a digi. It;s scary , and still it makes you want to color him and get make him look like he is moving and his cloak is moving in the wind. Ofcourse Rick St.dennis did the most work to get that working in drawing all those great folds and add a bit of the shades in allready .

The challenge was using my new Twinmarkers, they are a cheap brand alcohol marker and I only have a few colors so in the end I had to use some pencil too to get a better effect.

So here it is my art journal page

The reaper digi can be found here

First I used both misters to get the base color on the background, it has great shimmer but you can't see it on the scan, in the picture you can see the colors much better but the shimmer is hard to get in a photo. Next I used a stencil and black paint.
The imagae was cut out and glued to the background using Decou Page napkin, that  is a product specially made for glueind thin paper and it works great, no wrinkles and it makes the image become one with the background, Also it has no horrible glue smell so that is a big plus :-)

The Reaper  is also in a coloringbook here
and on a T shirt here

to see more of Rick's Craft team 's work chekc out the facebook group here

I will enter the folowing challenge

day 8.........

another journal page, a journal with black pages this time

Products used: Deco Art Americana Neon Lights in Radiant Yellow, Green Energy, Pink Explosion..Deco Art Americana Neon Multi Surface acrylic in Pink. Deco Art Americana Decopage napkin.

Because of the black paper I thought the neon colors would look nice :-). The bakcground is made using stencils, The zombie with the pumpkin is a Rick St.dennis digital image you can find him here

The digi eas coloured using tritones by Koh I nor and cut out. Glued to the back ground using Decopage napkin. I like this one because it works with more fragile paper and I like to use copier paper to color on, but that is thin so the Napkin Decou page works great for that.

and another page in the junk journal

sing Tim Holtz dies , painted the die cut using Deco Art Americana in Jack O lantern orange, added a layer of Americana Weathered wood and used Lamp black Americana paint as a top layer

the back ground is scrap paper with a layer of Deco Art Media fluid acrylic in Cadmiun Orange, the graveyard is a rubber stamp
