challenge on Sparkle and Glitter, clowning around

The theme at the new challenge is clowning around, well you don't really have to use the theme to enter as long as you use one of Rick's digis.

I just could not resist to make this art journal page.........

For the background I used Deco Art Media misters and glimmer misters in Violet, Turquoise, primary Magenta and Primary Yellow. The quote was stamped with black in and I made a white line around the letters using Deco Art Americana Snow White acrylic paint. The image wa adhered to the page using Deco Art Decou PageThe digital image by Rick St.dennis is called Happy Clown Cecil he was coloured using pencils and cut out. The image was adhered to the page using Deco Art  Americana Decou Page Napkin.

There is a how to make the background video on my you tube channel here (please like and subscribe)

The Reaper.....(again)

Digi used : the Reaper by Rick St.dennis
Deco Art Products used: Deco Art Media Shimmer Misters inTurquoise and Violet, Deco Art Americana acrylic paint in Snow White and Lamp Black.
Americana Decou Page Napkin

For Rick St.dennis Craft Team we got an assignement , saying make a project that exemplifies you as a crafter,,,,'''

I did not have to think about that very long (I did google exemplifies first lol) ,,, I just had to use my old frined the Reaper, I just love that image soooo much. It has everything I like in a digi. It;s scary , and still it makes you want to color him and get make him look like he is moving and his cloak is moving in the wind. Ofcourse Rick St.dennis did the most work to get that working in drawing all those great folds and add a bit of the shades in allready .

The challenge was using my new Twinmarkers, they are a cheap brand alcohol marker and I only have a few colors so in the end I had to use some pencil too to get a better effect.

So here it is my art journal page

The reaper digi can be found here

First I used both misters to get the base color on the background, it has great shimmer but you can't see it on the scan, in the picture you can see the colors much better but the shimmer is hard to get in a photo. Next I used a stencil and black paint.
The imagae was cut out and glued to the background using Decou Page napkin, that  is a product specially made for glueind thin paper and it works great, no wrinkles and it makes the image become one with the background, Also it has no horrible glue smell so that is a big plus :-)

The Reaper  is also in a coloringbook here
and on a T shirt here

31 days of Halloween ; day 3

Welcome to day 3 of the 31 days of Halloween

first an artjournal page to show you

Deco Art Products used: Media Misters in : Primary Magenta, Primary Yellow, Turquoise. Deco Art Media Matte Medium. Americana acrylic paint in lamp black. The digi is a cute monster by Rick St.dennis  it's called Seeben

I used the misters, paint  and  stencils to create  the background, Colloured the digi and cut it out. Glued it on the page using Matte Medium

Next  some pages of the junk journal again, This one is a witch stamp on a piece of sheet I found in my left overs. It's aged using stazon ink

The spiderweb is a piece of a diecut and the pumpkin is cut out of the cover of a Halloween paperpad
Next page has a spider day and the tombstone die is also a pocket,
In the pocket is a month calender of October,
this is what it looks like in the book

The calendar can be taken out of the pocket and the back has a stamped skull on it.  The other 11 months are in the journal too you will see them somewhere in the 31 days

see you tomorrow, blogroll in the sidebar. have fun hopping

Flutterby Wishes

Some art journalling, this was a very quick page, I think the gesso took the most time lol .

This is my small Dylussions journal and I really love the paper, the only downside is that because of the binding the paint and ink leak through to other pages, and if you get the paper soaked in paints or mists the pages will tear a bit in the ends of the binding in the  middle of the page. I guess putting masking take over the middle of the page will solve these problems. Anyway, here is how I made this page.

I think the media misters work better on paper if you use gesso first, that way it won;t soak into the paper immediately and you can spary some water to get some dripping and to make the colours a bit lighter.

So first gesso the pages and let dry, next play with the media  misters and watermister and sequin waste, let dry and stamp the butterflies.

I painted the inside of the butteflies with gesso the get a white background, let dry and stamp the butterlfies again on the gesso, let the ink dry and use Derwent inktense pencils and waterbrush to colour the butterflies.

Next I took some background stamps and stamped around the butterflies, that's it really, so because I used a thick layer of gesso that was the part that took the most time because it needed to dry first :-)

Making background with the misters is so easy and fun to do, I guess I am addicted lol
