week 2 of the I Scream Challenge at HDH

Did you all enjoy the little scary Ice Cream cartoon, well I did.... will never look at Ice Cream the same.

You can still enter the challenge at Haunted Design House here.  For some extra inspiration I made an Art Journal page.

The background isTH  distressink in Weathered Wood and Tumbled Glass, the skulls in the background are stamped, just as the ice creams. The checks are a stencil by Dutch Doobadoo, I drew the kiddies, yep the ones from the movie. I drew the monster claw too. The senti came from the internet.

Hope to see your entries soon

I will enter the following entries

Eerie challenge at Haunted Design House

This fortnight the challenge at Haunted Design House is all about eerie stuff, go see what my fellow minions made for your inspiration (that is if you dare... )

I made a little note book, the cover is sort of kraft cardstockish, so thouht I try Dylussion sprays on it. it worked out fine

the stamp used is from de Stempelwinkel and its coloured using Spectrum Noir pencils

this is the back , the crackle stamp is Kaiserkraft , I can't remember anymore what brand the skull is,
here a coser look at the front, the letters are stamps from the Hema (a Dutch store, famous for their smoked sausages LOL)

the inside is decorated as well

the inside covers have Lost coast designs stamps on them

thanks for looking, and hope to see you in the challenge

I will enter this in following challenges

666 the Number of the Beast

Yes, you read the title correctly.
Haunted Design House is celebrating how close we are to 666 followers of
our quaint little, dark sided challenge blog here
There are nearly 666 beasties who follow our blog! Wow!
Actually, as of this writing, we are only ONE follower away
from that magically dark number.

That calls for some Devlish projects , so check out the inspiration pos on HDH to see what my fellow minions made out of this, prepare for some evils art, hope you can handle it

I thought to go for the bible quote , turns out there a lot versions of Revelation 13:18, you you are interested you can check them here

Wheb I think number of the beast I think 666, pentacles (upside down of course) and uspide down crosses and something with horns, I drew the ram thought he was perfect for this challenge.

the ram was coloured cut out and glued to the background made using distress stains and Dylussions spary inks. There are some splatter stamps (yes blood splatter, what else)
I handwrote the bible quote an drew the pentakles and crosses (yes up side down, duh!!)

and for those who wonder, no I am not a devil worshipper, or belong to a satanic church,
I just like to make scary stuff.

Ok who will be our number of the beast folower is their anyone out there that is brave enough to wear the number of the beast???

See you at the challenge (add devlish laughter here)

Macabre Monday # 186 Steampunk Junk

The new challenge at Haunted Design House is all about Steampunk Junk, so another steampunk project for me. The junk part is a water gun, cuz Steampunkify a gun was on my "To Try List"for ages. I really wanted to use a Nerf gun, but my son wouldn't let me.......after seeing what I made of the water gun, he chamged his mind LOL. So maybe someday .....

here the finished water gun

DecoArt products used:
 Acrylic Gesso and Primer Sealer
Dazzling Metalics: Copper, Shimmering Silver, Venetian Gold
Americana Acrylic Lamp Black
Duraclear matte varnish

you also need a silver metallic spray paint, sanding paper and of course a toy gun

first sand the gun and clean it, add the Primer Sealer, let dry and Gesso the gun,

use the metallic silver spray paint (outside, I put the gun in a box first so there wouldn't be any paint on places you don't want the paint to be LOL). Spray several layers but let dry in between.

when dry, use the Dazzling in copper and venetion gold to paint some of the parts of the gun, see pic above

When dry use the Americana Acrylic lamp black to paint the rest of the gun, leaving the watertanks silver.

Let dry again. Next step is to age the gun I used lamp black on the silver parts and shimmering silver on the black parts. Add paint and let dry a bit and wipe away using a baby towel and kitchen towel. You just have to experiment a bit to see what works best. Dabbing with the kitchentowel after using a baby whipe worked best for me

Hope it looks like a Steampunk Gun now,  anyway, my follow Minions have some awesome steampunk stuff for you, go check out their bloggies.  Can't wait to see what you all make to enter the challenge

I will enter this in the following challenges:

challenge 184 Let's play a game at HDH

Theme of the new challenge at Haunted Design House is " Let's play a game "-use a game piece or inspiration from the Saw franchise.

I didn't have a Jigsaw image so I drew this one,  and coloured it using Derwent Coloursoft pencils. The background is a blood splatter stamp, the text is "I want to play a game" and I wrote that using a black marker.the frame is a Gorjuss stamp. The puzzle piece is painted using DecoArt Americana  acrylic paint in lamp black. Jigsaw is written in glitter glue, there is some glitter glue a long the edges also.

For more inspiration visit the other minions blogs, hope to you will come and play with us in the Dungeon.

If you'd lke to use Jigsaw in your project, here he is, enjoy :-)

Tarot cards

Some of you might know that I collect Tarot cards, and cause I used some on the altered chess piece, the idea came to mind to make my own. Now 78 cards is a bit too much maybe so I thought to start out with the Major Arcana, that are only 22 cards LOL

I just started with the cards that I like the most at the moment, The magician, The Hanged Man and The Fool.

Now my cards turned out pretty big so they can't be used but I like them as decoration anyway

I would like to enter the Hanged Man in the Haunted Design House challenge Hangmans Handiwork.

ok here they are
the Hanged Man, it's not as scary as it seems, it gives you the opportunity to look at things from a different point of view.
the hanged mand it here in  his own free will, taking time to reflect and to learn from his mistakes.
so nothing scary here LOL

In readings, the Hanged Man reminds us that the best approach to a problem is not always the most obvious. When we most want to force our will on someone, that is when we should release. When we most want to have our own way, that is when we should sacrifice. When we most want to act, that is when we should wait. The irony is that by making these contradictory moves, we find what we are looking for

The skull and bone are Rick St. Dennis images, the flowes are clearstamps by Viva Decor, the hanged man is a rubber art doll stamp, but don't know the brand

The Fool, the funniest card of all
The Fool  represents the complete faith that life is good and worthy of trust. Some might call the Fool too innocent, but his innocence sustains him and brings him joy. In readings, the Fool can signal a new beginning or change of direction - one that will guide you onto a path of adventure, wonder and personal growth. He also reminds you to keep your faith and trust your natural responses. If you are facing a decision or moment of doubt, the Fool tells you to believe in yourself and follow your heart no matter how crazy or foolish your impulses may seem

The voodoo skull man I used as the fool is the RSD june freebie, you can find him here

The magician
This image is what started the idea it just shouted magician to me (That is the stange thing about Rick's images, they seem to talk to you, and some of them even shout LOL), this is also an Rick St, Dennis image and it's called the entity.

In a reading, the Magician implies that the primal forces of creativity are yours if you can claim your power and act with awareness and concentration. This card is a signal to act and act now, provided you understand exactly what you want and are committed to getting it.

this is Gandalf, but he will be the Hermit soon

In readings, the Hermit often suggests a need for time alone - a period of reflection when distractions are limited. In times of action and high energy, he stands for the still center that must be created for balance. He can also indicate that withdrawal or retreat is advised for the moment. In addition, the Hermit can represent seeking of all kinds, especially for deeper understanding or the truth of a situation. "Seek, and ye shall find," we have been told, and so the Hermit stands for guidance as well. We can receive help from wise teachers, and, in turn, help others as we progress.

The fun part is that I just started to make the cards, starting with the magician, then the hanged man and the fool, and I did not look at the meaning (copy pasted from the net) of the cards, I just picked the ones that I was atracted to the most, and I am not a big believer in fortune telling, I never read any of the tarot decks in my collection.
They are just nice to look at to me. But the meaning of these cards sounds sort of  where i am in life now. Coincidence,....... I don't know.  We will see LOL

I will enter the magician in the following challenges http://dominoartblog.blogspot.nl/2013/05/dominoart-challenge-4-week-2-of-any.html  (i hope making your own playing cards count, cause i didn't really alter them)
