Floating Vampire skull

For today's make I have a floatng vampire skull,

The skull is a Rick St.dennis digi you can find it here. Coloured using pencils. Cut out and framed between two glass plates.

The frame is made of wood, usedAmericana gesso to base coat it, and painted it Dazzling Metallics Venetian Gold. next was a layer of Weathered wood, and the top paint layer isAmericana lamp black. When the crackles appeared and the black paint was dry I used Matte Varnish to protect the crackle layer. Next the fun started, creating paint drips, used Red Alert Americana for the dripings, mixed it with a bit of water to get it running. When the dripping was dry I added some Glamour dust in Sizzling red, because vampires like a little sparkle too.

Easy project with a great result I think :-)

Left of the Center Challenge blog anniversary day 20

Left of the Center is one of the blogs I play if I have the chance, the challenges are always non cute, so I guess that's why I like to go and play there LOL. This month LOC has an anniversary challenge, it lasts whole month and there a great prizes to be won and lots of inspiration to be seen, so go check it out.

Maureen, (usually Mo, but a bit confusing, so we talk to each other as "the other Mo" which I guess doesn't make things easier) asked me if I wanted to do a GDT project for the first anniversary, sure, why not....so here it is,.... my offering for the LOC anniversary is an Art Journal page using the Rick St.dennis MFA Vampyr Masquerade digi

the background used is a gelli print as base and added some stenceling, the stars, and the funny looking plant, and the circles on the edges. Paints used are all DecoArt Americana Acrylics, colours used: Red alert, Spiced Pumpkin, Winter Blue, Purple Pizzazz, Carousel Pink, Sour Apple, Moon Yellow.

The Vampyr Masquerade image is coloured using Derwent Coloursoft pencils, the senti says: "I love the night, it's the only time I feel really alive.

Thanks Mo for asking me and a happy anniversary to LOC

I will enter this in the following challenges':

bloody valentine

Hi all, this is my piece for the bloody valentine hop on the Airless Chambers blog, I made an Art Journal page using a Rick St. Dennis digi called  Vampyr Masquerade 2. I coloured the vampire using Derwent colour soft pencils. The background is a gelli print.
To make the gelli print I used DecoArt Americana Acrylics (Tomato Red, Winter Blue, Ocean Blue, Purple Pizzazz, Lemon Yellow) The letters are made using my Cricut to cut out a Vampire font. I traced the letters and painted them using Americana Acrylics Cherry Red (thought that was the best colour to look like blood lol), also used that for the little blood dripping from the Vampyrs mouth

here a pic with the paints used

and a scan to get a better few of the page and the image

and the Vampire a bit closer (careful he can bite )

some more tags

Just had to make this one , inspiration can be found in strange places. Somebody showed me a picture and suddenly this was in my head. We happened to be in Paris a few weeks ago and I had bought some Eiffel Towers. I only needed one but you can't seem to buy just one Eiffel Tower in Paris, they come 5 at a time LOL

The extra towers came in handy for this though...

Supply list
Deco Art Americana,
Acrylic Paint in the colours:

I usually save all cardboards from notebooks, enveloppes, anything that has sturdy card isn't thrown away, I hand cut the tags and Gesso them.

Then I painted it using the Sea Breeze, let dry and stamped the images on using Archival Jet Black ink and cobalt blue for the background stamp, it's hardly visable but it's there.
Next the Weathered wood, let dry and apply top layere Light Buttermilk. Watch it crack but don't let dry completly. Whipe away the light buttermilk to get the effect you want. I use a baby whipe for that.
Let dry and make a glaze using the glazing medium and traditionalburnt umber, glaze the whole tag to get a bit more of an old look. Protect the tag using matte Varnish.
Add the roses and other embellies and voila.....

The other tag is Halloween themed made for the Haunted Design House challenge

Supply list
Deco Art Americana paint
Glamour dust glitter paint Neon green DG 26-30
Rubber stamp is a Rick St. Dennis MFA Halloween image available at IBFS

Gesso-ed the tag, then  painted with Light Buttermilk
Stamped the IBFS Vampire image on the tag, coloured it using Caran d'ache coloured pencils and used odourless white spirit to blend.

Made a mask out of a post-it note and covered the Vampire image, then stamped the bats (don't know what brand)
Painted around the image using the Neon green glitter paint

It's Always hard to show the glitter, here some pics, hope you can see

15 days of half o ween Gamespinner

This was kind of a strange project, cause I had promised Leigh from Domino art to do a third piece for the halfoween challenge on Domino art blog, but I really didn't have enough time to make another projec cause I was busy working in the Smeared Ink Design Team project which was turning out much bigger and much more work than originally planned.

What happened was that I told Rick about the third piece and that i had no idea how to get in done in time, and he had a brilliant idea.

Why not make a game spinner, cause it's a rather simple thing to make and within the hour I got a photoshopped image of a card that I had made for the 31 days of halloween and sent to Rick by snail mail

So It was my card which i coloured and stamped and then Rick scanned it and  added some Photoshop tricks and the yellow circle with the words, and emailed  the photoshopped image back to me, I printed it and made the gsmespinner.

the vampire is a RSD image, no longer in the shop but you will find a lot of other scaryness there

Fun huh?? to be making a project together in cyberspace  LOL

hope you like

Smeared and Smudged bloghop

It's time for Smeared and Smudged monthly bloghop theme is DIRTY VINTAGE...Use vintage style images...and make it dirty by grunging it up, distressing it, or making it just plain DIRTY!

If my project is dirty enough I don't know, but I did a lot of gunging and distressing so at least I got that part covered LOL

here is my offering for the hop:

The digi images used: Nosferatu by Rick St. Dennis MFA (Nosferatu is available on Ricks's blog) and Open Bust by Smeared Ink. The spiderweb in the background is a rubber stamp by Lost Coast Designs and the blood splatter is a Stampinback rubber stamp. The senti is a Dracula quote.

I used dylussions for the blood and the green on the cardboard, I also used black paint and the images are coloured using distress ink. The spiderwebs are heat embossed using silver embossing powder and I added some skeletal remains  to enter HDH challenge 165.
To make it more vintage there is some black lace and a jute bow and some twine.

Hope you like the result and please go and visit the rest of the hoppers  and leave them some nice comments, see blogroll below
