I have altered a frame this time, I found this in a shop and the glass was out, (still in one piece but not attached to the frame anymore) so I could have it for only 1 euro LOL, the original plan was to use the pens inside the frame for a future project, but changed plan and decided to paint the frame and use the Rick St. Dennis Poe digi on this.
the roses and the crosses are a tim holz die
there is some red and purple glitter glue on the roses
here you can see how big the cracks will be if you put a thick layer paint on
The orignal frame was dark brown, and some dents aside it was very smooth. So took out my Deco Arts Weathered Wood crackle medium and Metallic Lustres to play.
First painted the frame two layers of lamp black (Americana Acrylic paint) let dry between layers. when dry a layer of weathered wood let dry again. Then painted a sloppy layer of Berry Red (Americana Acrylic Paint). I wanted the black to shine through on some places of the frame, and by adding the red paint at some places thicker and thinner you get a different crackle structure aswell.
When the cracking was done and the paint was completly dry I protected the frame using matte varnish. When the varnish was dry I added the black shimmer Metallic Lustre over the entire frame. Then took a baby whipe and started to remove the black shimmer but made sure to rubb it into all dents and crackles. As a finishing touch I put a little bit of Sparkling Silver Metallic Lustre here and there and this is the result
see you for day 15
