Galaxy shoes

Last weekend my daughter, Denise, asked me if she could use some of my Deco Arts Americana paints and some other of my crafty stuff to make "Galaxy Shoes".

She started out with some cheap white canvas sneakers, took over my craft room and ended up with this
DecoArt products used:
Americana Acrylics colours: Baby Blue. Wisteria, True Blue, Lamp Black, Titanium white, purple pizzazz.
use Decoupage to seal the paint (you will need a few layers)

I like how they turned out and decided to show you here on my bloggie

hope you like

Macabre Monday # 189 Ripped to Ribbons

Yep it;s that time again, a new challenge at Haunted Design House, theme this fortnight is Ripped to Ribbons........now that's easy......Just use some scary stuff and add ribbons, anyone can do that, see my project, super easy LOL

I made a Triptych (thanks Donna for giving me the English word).

It's made out of the cardboard back of a drawing pad (I always recycle those), ths side panels are made using the Tim Holz Sizzix die Vintage Cabinet ( I never thought I would use it that much, but can;t live without it anymore I guess). The Panel in the middle is just hand cut, I used a tag shape.

This was supposed to be just a tag, the side panels sorta happened ( yup. I know I should think before I start, but usually my projects turn out to be a lot different than what I thought they would be)

So this is what I started with, just plain cardboard, covered with white cardstock. Stamps used are a dancing skellie and tombstones form de Stempelwinkel, and a shrine stamp from Lost Coast Designs. The skellie was stamped first, masked and than the Shrine was stamped. Masked the Shrine and the skellie and stamped the tombstones. I alsway love to create these kind of scenes using lots of stamps.

after the stamping was done, they were coloured using pencils.

I just thought to add a ribbon in a hole at the top and be finished, but it just didn't look very good, so I made the side panels

the Stamps used are all Lost Cost Designs, there is a Sugar Skull, the crackle back ground stamp and the domino and skull border stamps (first stamp the skull, mask it and tamp the rest also using masks)
Coloured the skulls using pencil and the background is Distress Ink (Mustard seed, Tattered glass, and walnut stain)

I made holes on the sides of the panels using a crop a dile, this way  the panels could have hinges made out of ribbon (I had to put ribbon somewhere) .
And as a finishing touch I used DecoArt  Texture Fierro in Iron Black  to give the edges a bit of a distressed/vintage look and added some DecoArt Metallic Lustre Iced Espresso, to give it some extra shine (it doesn't show very well in the pic, but looks great IRL)

Can't wait to see what you all will be making for this challenge, will see you there

Science

Hi all, another science project to share with you :-)

I made an Art Journal page using the Rick St. dennis "It's alive " digi, you can find him here

Some experiment hey? LOL

for the backgound I used DecoArt Americana Acrylics (Tomato Red and Ocean Blue, the letters are Lamp Black), and a Gelli Plate.
The word "Science" is stamped using foam stamps (making memories)  and Lamp Black American Acrylic paint, the rest is made using a stencil and a black DVD marker from Edding (found out they work the best on acrylic paint).

The senti is ofcourse from Dexters Laboratory, if you never saw the cartoons (shame on you,) you can read all about it here.

Anyway, Deedee (What does that button do??)  must have had something to do with this experiment, cause it went terribly wrong........

I will enter the following challenges

Hat Shoppe

Hi all.

I've got a birthday card to show you, I used a part of the Hat Shoppe, these images are the Mad Hatter and the March Hare as hats. I just had to use them because I love everything Alice and I love the hat images (there are a lot "hats" in the shops here in Zibbet and in Etsy are some too here)   so this is a perfect combination, to use on a birthday card, or should it be an Un-birthday card??,.......well it's gonna be late anyway :-)

Also thought that this image would be perfect to use for a steampunk card, the gears are made using a die, and I added some Deco Art Metallic Lustre (Iced Espresso) for a bit of a gold shine, it's also on the edges of the pink paper.

Gefeliciteerd is "congratulations "in Dutch, I stamped the senti using Archival Jet Black ink,  the paper used is K&C Company

This image is also available as a rubber stamp at IBFS, check out our challenge in Steampunk style here (you can Steampunkify almost all images by adding some gears, wire, lightbulbs, metal), hope to see your entries soon.  There is a challenge on the facebook page too

Macabre Monday # 188 Whole lotta Rosie

New challenge starts today over at Haunted Design House theme: " a Whole lotta Rosie", use roses ( or a fat chick)

I came up with this......some good old rubber stamping fun

this was made using all kinds of different stamps,

the Skull is a rubber stamp by de Stempelwinkel

the branch background is rubber by Lost Coast Designs

The rose and the parchement paper are clear stamps by Stamperia

The angel wings are rubber stamps by A little bit sketchy

All stamped on white cardstock, stamps were masked to get this effect. All stamps are coloured using pencil, the branchy background iscoloured using  Peeled paint distress ink

the senti (came from the net, could not find who said this) was handwritten on and cut out of cardstock, coloured using distress ink (tumbled glass/ peeled paint).

the stamped card was matted onto purple cardstock and added to a grey card

It was a bit of a puzzle to get it this way, but I love how it turned out, can't wait to see your entries in the challenge

I will enter this card in the following challenges

ATC's

I haven't made ATC's for a long time and almost forgot how much funit is to create these little cards.

These are to be traded with the students of the OC Center Art Project, it's their first time to make ATC's so can't wait what they will send.

Theme was Gay related or something typical from the country you live in.  I made series for both and some extra

sorry for the bad pics,

this serie can't be more typical Dutch LO, it's all there windmills, tulips, wooden shoes, ofcourse on Delfts Blue tiles, and some Orange flowers to add some spark (if you never heard of Orange Madness check the linkie here), and ofcourse "Greetings from Holland" too.   (I also added the red white and blue, the colour of the Dutch Flag)

The Gay them had me puzzled a bit, but did some thinking and came up with a Rainbow background(made using distress and masked the seperate colours using post it notes)  and used the Male/Female sign stamps together with some hearts and dots. The senti sayss "Homorechten zijn mensenrechten" translated it say Gay rights are Human rights.
for my other ATC's I made some vintage/ steampunk style cards

Still another 4 more to go and than they can be send
