31 days of Halloween day 11

Welcome to day 11 of the 31 days of Halloween organized by Smeared and Smudged,
blogroll is in the side bar .
I am  also a Cryptkeeper in the Halloween countdown 2013, for the complete list of 192 Cryptkeepers joining the countdown to Halloween, see link here

Friday so Smeared Ink day.......

I am very pleased how my project turned out, cause it's a crazy race everyday to finish the projects on time.
There are some back up projects lying around in my craft room, but I try to make a project everyday, much more challenging but also more fun (some people would say completly nuts). the problem is that there are only a few hours in a day left after work to craft, and because it's getting dark early now, there is even less time. Some projects just are impossible to take a pic of without daylight.

Plans are almost never a problem, but the time needed to make the things that are inside my head is.....

Also for this one, I started out with this
and I wanted to age it and make it scary. The scary part was the easiest, the aging almost impossible in such short time.
Normally I would do something like this ,but no time to do all the layers and sanding this time
so I decided to paint the different layers on and hope it would dry on time.

All products I used are Deco Art.

Of course it's all ways best to first Gesso the wood, but as I said I was in a hurry, so skipped the Gesso (result will be much better if you Gesso first).
My first layer was Americana Acrylic Lamp Black,  did 2 layers cause the wood absorbed the paint (cause no gesso remember). Then made a mixture of Dazzling Metallics Copper and Glazing medium. Took a sponge and dabbed the mix on the black, carefully almost with dry sponge. To make it look more worn I added Americana Acrylic Antique Teal, same way but even more careful, just some spots and around the edges. The idea was that this way it would look like some of the paint was worn off.

On the little drawer and around the edges of the mirror I added black cardstock, first embossed and given a metallic look using Metallic Lustres (black shimmer and copper kettle)

Now the scary part, do you know the feeling when you saw a scary movie and it's late and dark and you are all alone and you have to and brush your teeth, but you are afraid to look in the mirror, cause you might see something behind you or even more scary what if your reflection turns out to be a skull...........I think the pics will show you what I mean

The skull is a Smeared Ink digi

see  how awesome those lustres are

How to take a pic of a mirror without getting in yourself LOL (hey there is me LOL)

looks like someone has found the solution for not havint to brush your teeth, just put them in a glass of water LOL

This project took me 2 hours to finish including drying time and this was what my workspace looked like after finishing .........

OK time to reveal the SECRET OF THE PRINTED MIRROR LMAO

see pics and you will know all dark secrets, ssshhhhh don't tell anyone :-)

a few drops of glue on the black, and you can't see the glue, et voila.......

easy huh???

and also an AJ page, background is a Gelli plate print, using Deco Art Americana Acrylics  (red, green, yellow and a bit blue for the bats)

The Digi is a Rick St. Dennis image also to be found on zibbet

see you for day 12
