Starting with the 12 days of Creepmas by Smeared Ink you will find all about the rules and prize here. This hop will be every other day, next day is dec 3rd.
I made a tag using Smeared Inks North Pole digi, the back ground is embossed using a cuttle bug embossing folder, The digi is coloured with pencils and I added some glitter to give it a bit of an icy look.
Next is the 13 days of Creepmas by Rick St. Dennis MFA you can find all the details about freebies and prizes and rules at Rick's other blog Airless Chambers, this one is every day for 13 days starting today.
This post is about Alice and 4 simple tags. Most of you know I'm a big Alice fan. What happened was that Rick asked me if I wanted a Creepmas Alice, of course I did, and within the hour I got an awesome Alice digi with a wrapped rabbit, and the message: apron, collar and cuffs white please, rest is up to you.
Now that was interesting, rest is up to me, never say that to me, cause why not give her a Christmas dress, so I made this:
Alice but not as we know her
When i finished the red dress, it just wasn't Alice anymore, I guess red isn't her colour.
Anyway I showed Rick and told about poor Alice doomed to wear blue for the rest of her life, he gave me some constructive criticism (make the wrapping paper look like wrapping paper!) and told me to have another go.
So I thought ok more extreme and scary after all it's Creepmas. and I coloured a curious Alice.
I liked it it was scary and different, and sent another pic to the boss,
again i got some constructive criticism: wrapping paper is better but never do the eyes the same colour as the dress.
Ok so another Alice then, I gave up a bit, all other coloured dresses didn't seem to work, that's why I got back to the good old Alice.
Sent a pic again to the Boss, and comment was: now this is Alice..... and this wrapping paper looks like wrapping paper .
(so much for the rest is up to you, LOL). But i think it's true, the blue dress is what makes Alice, Alice.
Still the eye thing was haunting throug my mind, what would curious Alice look like with a different colour eyes, so a few days later I decided to just try and see what happens.
This post is really just about the colouring, to see how the different colours would change the look of the same image, that's why I kept the tags very simple.
Question is, which Alice do you like the most, and what you think, can the poor girl wear another colour dress and still be Alice?
Promise tomorrows post will be a lot shorter LOL
you can find the Creepmas Alice Digi here in Rick's Etsy
Enjoy the rest of the hop and please leave all the Creepmas bloggers some nice comments, see you tomorrow
i will enter Alice in the following challenges:
http://forevernightchallenges.blogspot.se/ challenge 56 Anything goes
Fabulous creations and I love your colouring.... don't know why you feel the need to ask for 'constructive criticism' !!! Why not just do your own thing that you are soooo good at ?!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the big compliment Ike, please don't take this post to seriously. It was just trying out how different colours would work, and I had lots of fun doing that. It's nice to get an opinion sometimes, never to old to learn anyway LOL
DeleteBut i think you know me well enough to know that I always do things the way I like them, wait till you see tomorrows post and if you still had any doubts, you will be confinced:-)
Lovely tags! Their all wonderful! Great job =0)
ReplyDeleteGreat tags, Monique! Love the bright North Pole sign against the new fallen snow, although I pretty muh think I'd turn back. LOL And as for Alice, My fave is the really bright middle one, although I think Rick's right about the eyes. However, they might just be picking up the colors in her fab dress! I happen to have wrapping paper in those neon colors and I ADORE her hair. Sooo festive. xx
ReplyDeleteI definitely think Alice can wear any color and still be Alice - I like all of your offerings but think the darker bg shows her off better! I know that could just be the light
ReplyDeleteWow. Monique, this are awesome. Lovely coloring. All the tags are great.

Smashing work, Monique! Wow! You have been colouring like mad! It's hard to choose a favorite, but I'm leaning towards Alice in orange on the dark background. I love her multi-colored hair and she just pops off the page! It was so cool seeing all of your different Alice tags and seeing how different the same image can look. I definitely think Alice can wear any colour she wants. Fabulous work!

ReplyDeleteOMG girl - WOW. You have owned Alice here. Love all the versions BTW and I can't see any reason why not to colour the eyes anyway you want. It happens in real life . Fabby collection of tags as always xxxx
ReplyDeleteLovin' all your tags! The embossed background on your north pole is fab and all your Alice's are just marvelous, no matter what color.
