Alpha dictionary letter G

LOL   I think it's obvious what word I chose for the letter G in the Alpha Dictionary challenge over at the Craft Barn Blog, well actually I had choise of 3 at least.

Ghost, Goblin and Ghoul, these are my favorit G words by far.......

Can't do all three I guess but I wanted to use a quote that must sound familiar to anyone who has ever been to Phantom Manor in Disneyland Paris. It has both Goblin and Ghoul in it so thought to just cut both words out of my dictionary.

But fair is fair, have to chose one word so I'll go for Goblin  :-)

 

The image used is Lady Greystone  a Rick St. Dennis digi stamp, she reminds me of the bride haunting Phantom Manor, looking for her groom (the poor guy didn't show up at the wedding, he kinda died, someone hung him).

The background is a gelli plate print.

the Rick St. Dennis digi is coloured using Caran d'ache luminance 6901 coloured pencils, a paper stump and odourless white spirit

 

The tekst is handwritten I used Edding 780 paint markers, in white and black, the doodles are also done with these markers

another tag this time for a gdt for Left of the center blog challenge 14 where Rick is sponsoring, and yes I was late......

The tag background is Deco Art American acrilyc  paint and stamps

 

first a layer of light buttermilk DA 164, stamped the the White rabbit , which is a Rick St. Dennis Rubber stamp from IBFS, masked it and stamped the clocks, then a layer of weathered wood crackle medium, then added Baby Blue DA042, let it crack and whiped the blue of on parts of the tag to make the tags visable.

To finish I used a glaze using a mix of  Deco Art glaze medium and traditional burnt umber

The clock has a layer of Metallic lustre on it (black)

Another Halloween tag

I used a I Brake for Stamps Halloween rubber stamp for this, ofcourse with it has one of Rick's images on it. The tag is cut out of cardboard and gesso-ed first. Painted with a layer of Deco Art americana light buttermilk paint and then stamped the images using Archival jet Black.

Coloured them using coloured pencils and then blended the clours using odourless white spirit.

stamped the background with the spider webs and painted the rest of the tag using Deco Art glamour dust glitter paint in Neon green and Neon orange

some more tags

Just had to make this one , inspiration can be found in strange places. Somebody showed me a picture and suddenly this was in my head. We happened to be in Paris a few weeks ago and I had bought some Eiffel Towers. I only needed one but you can't seem to buy just one Eiffel Tower in Paris, they come 5 at a time LOL

The extra towers came in handy for this though...

Acrylic Paint in the colours:

Sea Breeze DA 256-3

Light Buttermilk DA 164-3

Traditional Burnt UmberDA 221

Weathered wood Crackle medium

I usually save all cardboards from notebooks, enveloppes, anything that has sturdy card isn't thrown away, I hand cut the tags and Gesso them.

Then I painted it using the Sea Breeze, let dry and stamped the images on using Archival Jet Black ink and cobalt blue for the background stamp, it's hardly visable but it's there.
Next the Weathered wood, let dry and apply top layere Light Buttermilk. Watch it crack but don't let dry completly. Whipe away the light buttermilk to get the effect you want. I use a baby whipe for that.
Let dry and make a glaze using the glazing medium and traditionalburnt umber, glaze the whole tag to get a bit more of an old look. Protect the tag using matte Varnish.
 Add the roses and other embellies and voila.....

Gesso-ed the tag, then  painted with Light Buttermilk

Stamped the IBFS Vampire image on the tag,coloured it using Caran d'ache coloured pencils and used odourless white spirit to blend.

 

Made a mask out of a post-it note and covered the Vampire image, then stamped the bats (don't know what brand)

Painted around the image using the Neon green glitter paint

Vintage Tag

This tag is made using a piece of cardboard, gesso-ed it and then went crazy with paints :-)

 

Supply list:

 

Deco Art Americana Glazing medium

Deco Art Americana Acrylic paint:

Traditional burnt Sienna  DA223

Traditional burnt Umber DA 221

Lamp (ebony) black DA 067

Light buttermilk DA 164

Americana Weathered Wood Crackle Medium

 

 

first I painted the tag using Light Buttermilk, let dry and stamped the images on the tag using Archival Jet black ink. Let dry.

Then I coloured the stamps using Caran d'ache coloured pencils and blended using odourless white spirit.

Careful cause the white spirit disolves when blending the pencil, so it's a bit harder to do than colouring on paper.

Let dry, cause the blending wets the paint a bit

Then I added a layer of weathered wood. Let dry again (lol you do need some patience for this)

The top layer is traditional burnt Sienna. Watch it crack, but don't let dry completly.

Carefully whipe of the top layer on the spots you want the stamps to show.

Let dry again.

Then I sanded a bit, and  added a bit lamp black. The final step is to glaze the whole tag using a mixture of Glazing Medium and traditional burnt umber.

the letter Z.............let's think.....o, I know.......

ZOMBIE!!!!!!!!!!!

Over at the Craft Barn blog the new Alpha dictionary challenge started, and the letter is Z........

Well my beloved followers, I guess you all saw this coming, letter Z can be only one thing in my dictionary.......

I can't work in a dictionary, it's too small for me so I had to cut the word out and glue it to my page, I don't normally cut things out of books, they are kinda sacred .....so I have a very old English-Dutch dictionary that i use for these challenges. Can you believe the word Zombie wasn't in there, what kind of dictionary is that, the most important Z word not in there...........

Luckely my son has a dictionary, he needs that for school, I asked him if Zombie was in there and ............

Yay it was!!!

Well not anymore................I know.....I  am a bad example for my kids, but hey, they think I am NUTS anyway  :-).
 But at my defense; I asked if I could cut it out and my son wasn't very much attached to the Zombie word so I could have that one. As a matter a fact I could have the whole book," he didn't need it anyway", he said.   Well I think he does, so I returned it  to him ;-) (minus a word or two that is)

Here  is my page, using a Rick St. Dennis image called Zombie love, the background is a gelliplate print, I used Deco Art Amercana Acrylic paint in the colours: Calypso Blue DA234, Navy Blue DA 035, Hauser Light green DA131, True Red DA 129, and Lemon Yellow DA 011. The heart and the Z are stamps, I wrote the senti using a waterproof marker.
