RSD progressive challenge January Part 2

For part 2 of the Rick St.dennis challenge at Sparkle and Glitter I made an art journal page, check out the post there for a free coloringpage, based on my art journal page below

The image is called Mall girls and she can be found here (she has some friends too). To start the page I painted it Sea Breeze and a bit of Sour Apple,, I used a sponge and a bit messy look is OK.
Next I used Lamp Black and Titanium white to stamp the circles, I did not use real stamps but the back of paintbrushes and pens, also used the side of the paintbrushed to stamp, an eraser and a pencil sharpener. The rest of the lines are drawn.
The quote was stamped and coloured using distress ink (Mustard Seed). I coloured all circles using Faber Castell Art Grip pencils .

These are the paints I used all Americana Acrylics by Deco Art

Heart canvas again

This canvas was inspired by Amy Pearce. I saw a video she made and thought to try and paint my own version.

this canvas is for sale see here

Deco Art products used: Americana Acrylics in : Sour Aple, Desert Turquoise. Bahama Blue, Red alet and Snow White. Traditions acrylic paint in Carbon Black and Red Violet. Acrylic Gesso and Americana Deco Page matte.

First gesso the canvas and when dry add a layer of Red Alert paint. Take a piece of tissuepaper large enough to cover the canvas and the edges. Crumple the tissue paper to get a lot of creases and glue it to the canvas using Decou Page Matte. Use a layer of Decou Page on the canvas, add the tissuepaper in a way the crumples stay in, and add a layer of Decou Page over the tissue paper. Let dry.

Next take a pencil and draw the outlines of the heart. Take a clean paintbrush and water and wet the inside of the heart. Start painting the heart while the water is still on the heart so the different paint colours will easily mix. starting with Red make shadows with Red Violet and use Snow White for the highlight. Add more RedViolet  (you can even add a little black to make it a bit darker) and go from the shadow side of the heart to red in the middel to bright red and white on the highlight.
Use the highlights and shadows to shape the heart.
Let the heart dry. For the background wet the rest of the canvas using water and a paintbrush again.

Use the Green, Turquoise and the Blue to paint the background, Let the colors mix and play with the paint till you like the result.

Use Red Violet to add the shadow of the heart on the background and let it fade into the Blue/Green
Let the canvas dry and use a paint brush with a little red violet paint on the flat side to gently add some paint on the raised parts of the tissuepaper. While doing this on the heart I added a bit Black to the Red Violet so it would show better.
Create a bit of a border in Red Violet around the edges of the canvas

I will enter this canvas in the following challenges

Heart Canvas

Valentines around the corner so am  inspired by hearts. I have made several heart canvasses  the last few weeks, see my other blogpost here, and I have two more to show you starting with my entry for the Winter Wonderland Challenge by  Deco Art in this post and a heart painting in next blogpost.

I thought to get the wintercolours into Valentines day with a heart :-)

Deco Art poducts used:   Media Fluid acrylics in Metallic Silver, Dioxazine Purple, Primary Cyan, Quinacridone Violet, Cobalt Teal, Translucent White and Interferences in Violet and Blue.
Media Tinting Base, Triple Thick Gloss Glaze, Paintable Texture Crackle, Americana acrylics in  Navy Blue , Blue Chiffon. Glamour Dust Glitter paint in Turquoise Sparkle and Purple Princess. Americana Acrylic GessoCraft Twinkle writer in Galaxy Blue

First I gessoed the canvasand when dry I used paintable texture crackle to cover the whole canvas. While still wet I used a glass to make the circles on the canvas, by pressing the glass into the texture crackle.

When Texture crackle had dried I painted all circles and gave some an extra layer over the paint using Glitter paint or Interferance, See list above for the colours I used.

When the paints are dry cover with Triple Thick Gloss Glaze (I used 2 layers) to give the heart a bit of an Ice look. Next cut pieces out of card board to stamp the words on. These pieces of cardboard were first painted using  Gesso to prep and over the gesso Cobalt teal with a bit Navy Blue, The words are stamped using a a set of alphabet stamps and black Archival ink.
Around the edges I added glitter using a Craft Twinkle writer in Galaxy Blue, glued it on the heart when glitter had dried

So here it is my entry for the Winter Wonderland challenge by Deco Art,

I will also enter this canvas in the following challenges

rsd progessive challenge january

Hi everyone a very happy healthy new year for you all.

It's time for the January progressive challenge and as always it is anything goes. I made a journal page using Deborah Hatlady by Rick St.dennis. See all info about the challenge on the Sparkle and Glitter blog

Deco Art products used, Media mister in primary yellow, Shimmer mister in Violet, Tradtions acrylic paint in Hansa Yello and  Black, Americana Acrylic in Sweet Mint. Stencil is Urban Ink Spirited.

The base of the background was a media mister cleaning page, is a page used to clean the misters when done using them. So the page was no longer white and that is always a nice start :-)
Next I used the violet and the yellow mister to spray some extra color on the page. Let dry and took out a stencil for the circles, I used the sweet mint and hansa yellow for those.
The quote is from the Urban Ink stencils by Deco Art, I used Traditons black paint to stencil.

The hatlady was coloured using primacolor pencils and cut out and glued to the page

hope you like.
